Let me to introduce to you: The green sun, centre for healing herbs. Since 25 years people can study herbalism here and get to know the most important healing herbs of Northern Europe and how to use them for their health.

WELLCOME TO THE SITE OF THE "GROENE ZON", THE GREEN SUN. AS HERBS CONTAIN ALL THE FORCE OF THE SUN AND ONLY CAN GROW AND HEAL US THANKS TO IT, I CONSIDER THEM AS "GREEN SUNS".
On this site you can find informations about healing herbs in the north of the Neterlands. The pictures can be used and in the future I hope to install an international forum about healing herbs.
Aim of "De groene Zon"is to keep the knowledge about herbs alive and to inspire people to learn more about them.
Many herbs grow around us. It's not difficoult to use them to keep yourself healthy. Here we are preparing a compress with comfrey.

Here you see the extracts of different herbs in oil. They stay in the sun for 2 to 6 weeks and then are seaved and used in ointments or massageoils.

De Groene Zon heeft een eigen lesruimte met daarbij een winkeltje. Op de uren dat geen les wordt gegeven toveren we de lesruimte om in een theeschenkerij.
Het adres is Beijumerweg 20 in het gebouw van stadsboerderij De Wiershoeck De oude boerderij is prachtig gelegen in het groene hart van Beijum en is omringd door een fantastische tuin. In het gebouw bevinden zich verder onder andere een natuurvoedingswinkel en een winkel voor duurzame hennepkleding
Ons winkeltje is dinsdag tot zaterdag geopend van 9.30 tot 17.30 / 17.00, dankzij de hulp van een aantal enthousiaste vrijwilligers. In de middag kunt u bij ons terecht voor een lekker kopje kruidenthee of koffie met zelfgebakken taart of koek.
